Dear Parents
Year 1 Trip to Stanwick Lakes
The Year 1 children had a fabulous day out with a bus ride to Stanwick Lakes. They had perfect weather to walk around the lake, visit the bronze age barrow and play in the excellent play area and they showed lovely manners with other schools. Thank you to all the staff for making it a lovely experience.
Year 3 Trip to The Saints
Year 3 visited the Saints Ground at Franklins Gardens and had a fun rugby session followed by a stadium tour visiting the changing rooms and the pitch. They also had their picture taken with the Gallagher Premiership Cup. Hopefully it has inspired the children to play rugby and what an amazing opportunity!
The Year 6 Performance
The Year 6 performance of High School Musical was a triumph and a true reflection of this Year 6’s teamwork and positive attitude to all that they do. There were some incredible individual pieces as well as the roof raising group performances. It was a joy to watch. Thank you to Miss Holmes and the team including Miss Morley, who choreographed the numbers and gave everyone the opportunity to strive for and achieve high standards.
England Football Game
There is an England football game very early on Monday morning! Should any of our Year 5 or Year 6 children stay up to watch it they are welcome to come to school a bit later at 10.30am. We hope that our younger children enjoy the highlights later if they are following the football.
A Further Heatwave
We are expecting hot weather again next week, so please remind the children to wear sun hats and apply sun screen before coming to school. We will keep you updated with any extreme weather plans should the temperatures mean adjustments need to be made.
End of Year Reports
There will be a ParentMail coming out regarding online end of year reports next week, with all the information you will need. We’re sure that you will find this change convenient and the reports a pleasure to read as always. Thank you to the teachers for their hard work preparing these. There will be an opportunity for you to comment as usual, which helps us to gather your feedback.
Transition Day
On Monday afternoon children will be told about their new class teachers ready for Transition Day. On Tuesday morning the children will come to their normal classes and their current staff will welcome them and take them to their new year groups. Children can be collected at the end of the school day from their current class.
We wish all our Year 6 children well on their exciting transition days to secondary school and for those who do not have a day in their new school on Monday or Tuesday, we will look forward to welcoming them to school for special activities.
Have a lovely weekend
Alison
