Dear Parents

It’s been wonderful to see so much outdoor learning taking place this week, including our Young Leaders leading a parachute activity at lunchtime, making the most of the lovely weather and our fantastic grounds.

Prompt Arrival

Can you talk to the children in Year 6 please about playing on the Green before school starts. I scooped up a lot of children this morning who would really benefit from coming in at 8.45am promptly to complete their morning work.

Frontier Centre

The Year 4 team and children are looking forward to going to the Frontier Centre next Wednesday to Friday and have their fingers crossed for some dry weather. Can Year 4 parents please check your ParentMails for any last-minute arrangements. Thank you

Benham Experience

Key Stage 2 had a fabulous morning at Benham; trampolining and taking part in circus skills activities. Mr Kennedy and Mrs Crocker were very proud of the way that the children represented the school.

Mexican Food Day Tuesday 5th May

Ms D’Agostino would like to remind everyone there will be ‘Mexican Food Day’ with a themed lunch on 5th May. Chef Heather will mark Mexican ‘Cinco de Mayo’ on Tuesday 5th May, with a delicious menu of:

  • Loaded beef tacos served with cheddar cheese and seasoned wedges
  • Vegetarian fajita wraps with sour cream and guacamole and seasoned wedges
  • Turkey baguette, tortilla chips and veggie sticks
  • Cheese baguette tortilla chips and veggie sticks
  • Mexican Chocolate lava cake

The children have been told and are clearly big fans of Mexican food- save yourselves the job of packing lunches on Bank Holiday Monday ready for returning on Tuesday!

Thank you to Ms D’Agostino for organising another cultural experience for the children.

Year 1 Visitor

Mrs Hollingsworth has written about a visitor to Year 1 this morning:

We were delighted to welcome Mr Kreffer to speak with our Year 1 children about exploration. As part of our current History topic on explorers, he shared some of his exciting real-life adventures from around the world. The children enjoyed seeing photographs and hearing stories about his experiences, including skydiving in New Zealand, swimming with sharks, and cave diving in Vietnam.

The session sparked great enthusiasm, and the children were especially interested in learning about the equipment needed for different types of exploration. It was a fantastic opportunity to bring our topic to life and inspire curiosity about the world around us.

Have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend
