The Friends of Bridgewater Primary School
The Friends of Bridgewater Primary School is the name for the parent teacher association at our school. It was established to provide an opportunity for parents and carers to become more involved with the school and to help raise funds to enhance the education and experience of all children in the school.
What do we do?
The Friends organise fantastic events and in previous years an example of these are:
- Christmas Fair and Summer Fair
- Halloween disco
- Personalised Christmas cards drawn by the children
- Pre-loved uniform sales
- Trip to the Pantomime at the Derngate
- Easter Eggstravaganza
- Mother’s and Father’s Day stalls (with gifts for the children to buy)
- New Intake Parents and Carers coffee morning
What do we do it for?
In the past the Friends have purchased many things, including equipment for the Forest School area, a kiln for the STEM room, a climbing frame, new books for the library and each year group and calculators for Year 6 as leaving presents.
How can you get involved?
As a parent or carer of a child at Bridgewater Primary School you are automatically a member of the Friends and we would like to encourage you all to become as involved as you can with our activities and fundraising. We realise that attending committee meetings isn't possible for everyone; however, if you would be willing to help at events, supply prizes or help behind the scenes then we would love to hear from you. See our contact details below.
Committee Members
The Friends of Bridgewater is a registered charity and as such has an elected committee to organise and administer the charity and the events we run. The current trustees are;
- Chair: Gemma Crooke
- Secretary: Ellie Rutherford
- Treasurer: Andrew Myrie
Details of the latest events are regularly sent out to parents via ParentMail and displayed on the electronic noticeboard outside the Early Years area.
Fundraising through Stikins
The Friends of Bridgewater have a fundraising arrangement with Stikins who sell adhesive name labels for school uniform. It’s really important to label all school uniform so any mislaid items make their way back to you, so if you’re thinking of buying labels, please consider using Stikins and the Friends will receive 30% commission on each order. Their website is www.stikins.co.uk and you will need to enter our fundraising number 35821.
