Dear Parents
Northampton Town History Week
The children have had a fascinating start to the school year led by Mrs Bentley, our History Lead, learning different aspects about Northampton Town History in their year groups. Hopefully they will be able to share their new knowledge with you and maybe find out some more facts? This week they are lighting up the market square to represent the Great Fire of Northampton Discover What's On - Discover Northamptonshire and there is a walking trail for the next week which you may be interested in.
New Intake – Early Years
Group A have settled well this week and enjoyed exploring the Early Years provision and next week, we’re excited to welcome Group B into Early Years. Children will start at 9:15am with a 3:00pm pick-up. We can’t wait to see them looking smart in their new uniforms at the beginning of their school journey.
Scooters / Bikes
Can you remind the children not to ride their scooters and bikes within the school grounds please. Although we are keen to encourage children to travel to and from school on scooters, unfortunately there are too many people about at pick up and drop offs and it is too dangerous within the grounds. Thank you
PGL Meeting
It was great to see so many families at the Year 6 PGL meeting which included a lot of excited children. This year, virtually the whole cohort of 90 are attending which is amazing. The children get so much from attending the residential and come back exhausted and a little muddy but with newfound independence and confidence. I hope this years Year 5 are going to grasp the opportunity as well next year.
Website Compliance
Thank you to Mrs Troop and Mrs Breakwell who have updated the school website and checked it for compliance this week. If you spot anything which could be improved, please let us know as we want to make it as user friendly for everyone as possible.
Parent Helpers – Reading
If you would like to support our children with reading or other activities in our friendly school, please speak to the office staff who can place you with a year group. Everyone is welcome including parents, family members and residents who may have some spare time available during the week. Staff and children are always delighted when they have volunteer helpers to work with the children.
We are also looking for anyone who could help clear some bullrushes in the pond, as well as remove large tree stumps around the school that are unfortunately deteriorating. If you’re able to assist or know someone who can, please let the office know. We appreciate any support or helpful contacts you can share. Thank you!
Nut Free School
A gentle reminder that we are a Nut Free School. Please can you make sure that your child does not have anything containing nuts in their pack lunch or snacks. This includes Nutella sandwiches and any type of brunch/muesli bars that contain nuts.
Family Breakfasts
Every Wednesday and Friday, Heather, our school chef cooks an amazing breakfast which you can purchase and enjoy with your family, including grandparents and friends. It is in the school hall at 8.15am and at the moment, Wednesday is a little quieter. We encourage families to put away all devices and it is great to see children playing board games, cards and drawing after they have eaten. It’s a chance for families to sit and enjoy time together and a delicious breakfast.
Tidying Up Habits
Thank you to all the children in the Upper Phase who have volunteered to help tidy lost property, the corridors and books etc. A third of the children in Inspire shared yesterday that their bedrooms were untidy!! But don’t worry because they said they would tidy everything up this weekend and then put things away each day. I’ll be interested to hear how they get on. 😊
Have a lovely weekend
