Dear Parents
International Schools Award
This week Mrs D’Agostino, our Spanish teacher and ISA coordinator, visited London to collect the prestigious International Schools Award on behalf of Bridgewater which was a wonderful day of celebration. The award recognises how we celebrate different cultures in our community, connect with others internationally and encourage our children to be curious, confident and proud of their differences.
The National Space Centre
Year 5 had a fantastic day at the National Space Centre in Leicester. It was a busy and exciting visit, which included watching a show in the planetarium, exploring the interactive exhibits, and taking part in a Mars Rover workshop that involved hands-on coding. The children were a credit to the school and were extremely well behaved throughout the day.
Parking
Please do not drive at speed around the turning circle or tailgate vehicles into the drop-off zone. Drivers have also been seen texting whilst driving in the turning circle. These actions put children and families at risk and are completely unacceptable. Thank you to those parents and carers who continue to drive safely and show consideration and respect for others.
Children’s Mental Health Week
Children’s Mental Health Week takes places next week, which is an annual mental health awareness week where we look at the ways to support emotional well-being. Our school focus will be mindful moments and year groups teams will be introducing and then continuing additional mindfulness practices within the school day.
Look out for the notice on the outside information screen with activities that you can do at home to boost your mood.
Safer Internet Day
Safer Internet Day 2026 will take place on 10th February and focuses on the theme “Smart tech, safe choices – Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI.”
Children will take part in a range of activities designed to develop their critical thinking around how AI is used in everyday life to help them to make safe and responsible choices.
Smart Inspire Building
Thank you to Mrs Atlas who organised for smart new cupboards to be installed in the Inspire building corridor. It is a much smarter and more organised learning environment now.
Have a lovely weekend
Alison Harvey
