Dear Parents
Happy New Year 2026!
It’s been a lovely start back to the term, hearing all the children’s news and watching them settle straight back to their learning.
Young Voices
It was a privilege to attend the ‘Young Voices’ event in Birmingham, which was a magical and memorable experience. Thank you to Miss Williams, Mrs Range and Mrs Washington, who organised the event and Miss Linnett who accompanied the trip along with the wonderful school choir who had been practising very hard. Joined by many other schools from across the region, the children filled the vast NEC BP Pulse auditorium with infectious enthusiasm, energy and joyful singing, truly raising the roof!
Thank You for the Gifts Collected
Your generosity has made a real difference this Christmas. Jeanette Walsh, lovingly known as ‘Mother Christmas’ shares heartfelt messages from families who received your donations:
🎁 A mum of two young children, recovering from a hospital stay and caring for her premature baby born in early December, said your gifts lifted a huge weight from her shoulders. She simply didn’t have the means or the time to shop for presents, and your kindness made Christmas possible for her family.
🎄 A dad caring alone for his three small children, living with disabilities and unable to work, was deeply moved by the gifts his children received. Christmas can be an especially tough time financially, and your support brought joy and relief to their home.
Jeanette writes ‘ Your kindness has brought light, comfort, and festive magic to families who needed it most. Thank you for making a difference.’

** NEWS FLASH! Exciting News **
Forest Schools sessions for Pre-schoolers at Bridgewater
We’re excited to share that bookings are now open for our brand‑new pre‑school and toddlers Puddles and Pine Forest School play‑and‑stay sessions at Bridgewater Primary School. These sessions will be led by Miss Tarry, a qualified teacher and experienced Forest School leader, who joined our team in November. You can also find her Puddles and Pine Forest School page on Facebook.
Places are limited, so we encourage early booking to secure your spot. You can reserve a place using the link below, which is also available on our website and Facebook page: www.bookwhen.com/bridgewaterprimaryschool
We’re also thrilled to announce that a brand‑new Forest School classroom is currently being built and is expected to be ready for the very first session.
Parking Reminder
Please be courteous to our local neighbours as a local resident is frustrated and disappointed that parents park on his grass verge and are damaging the area. Thank you
One Way System
The school’s one-way system can become extremely busy. We therefore ask that everyone follows the system carefully and walks anti-clockwise around the building at all times to help keep movement orderly and safe. Can you also pick up and move on swiftly keeping the route clear.
We regularly remind children that if they lose sight of their parent or carer, they should return to the school office for help. Parents may also wish to agree an alternative plan with their child, such as returning to their classroom or meeting at a clearly identified point, should they become separated.
Please ensure that you always keep a close eye on your children during drop-off and pick-up. We are particularly concerned to see, on occasion, children running across the car park unsupervised. For everyone’s safety, children must remain with their adult and walk on the designated footpaths.
Your cooperation is essential in helping us maintain a safe environment for all members of our school community. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Wrap up warm and have a lovely weekend
Alison Harvey
