Dear Parents
Cluster Transition Day
Bridgewater hosted a cluster sports event for the Year 6 children who are moving to Year 7. It provides a great opportunity to meet children from other local primaries who are going to their secondary school and make new friends and connections.
Miss Holmes organised the entire day at Bridgewater which ran very smoothly and invited Rhino Sports to organise events including giant inflatables which were great fun. You will be able to see some at the Bridgewater Summer Fair as well, on Saturday 27th June.olmes organised the entire H
Thank you to the staff and children of our cluster schools, Barry Road, Vernon Terrace Primary, Delapre, Moulton and Kingsthorpe Grove, Rhino Sports for a fabulous day, as well as the amazing staff and children at Bridgewater.
New Leaf Learning
You have the rare opportunity to visit Courteenhall Estate for their Summer Fete on Saturday 6th June. This where ‘New Leaf’ learning takes place that some of our children have hugely benefited from.
They are holding a children’s clothes stall on the day. If you are having a clear out over half term could you wash and bag up some pre-loved clothes and we will donate them to the stall so that they can be appreciated in a new home 😊 The flyer is attached.
Health is Wealth
Well done to Isaac and the Young Leaders who organised a poster competition to celebrate Active Learning. They chose Hannah in Year 3 as the winner who designed the poster that is on the interactive board and my office window with the catchy slogan, ‘Health is Wealth’. We celebrated the theme in Monday’s assembly, and Carmel and Felicity wrote powerful poems which they shared to the whole school and can be seen on the interactive board with Hannah’s poster. A special well done to Isaac in Year 5 for his leadership skills and enthusiasm in organising the competition and communicating articulately and with passion to the whole school in the hall.
Well Done, Rosie
Well done to Rosie in Year 4 who plays football for Northampton Town, Cobblers, under 10's, where she plays up a year! Last Saturday they played their cup final and won 4- 0! Apart from the development team, they are the only Northampton women's team to get this far. This is very impressive and shows the benefits of being part of a team are endless.
Pond Explorers
Each class in Early Years spent a day exploring the pond this week. They were not deterred by the weather and built dens to get under if it started to rain hard. Otherwise, they were out and about in the pond sometimes known as the swale, finding all sorts of minibeasts.
Turning Circle
Please remember to drive slowly and with due care and attention in the turning circle. Please no tailgating,
Inclusion Coffee Morning
The Next Inclusion Coffee Morning date for the diary is 7th July when Enfold, an autism charity, will be attending. As always, all are welcome.
‘Resolv’ Workshop
‘Resolv’ came in to speak to Year 6 about the dangers of vaping and keeping themselves safe today. They learnt that vapes were originally a replacement for smoking but now people smoke them who never smoked in the first place. They spoke about peer pressure and the need to say ‘No’. All the effects are still unknown but there appear to be many associated illnesses and long-term health effects.
Have a lovely half term
Alison Harvey
