We have had a fabulous week here in Reception, as we have welcomed the whole cohort of children into school together. We would like to introduce you to the three Reception classes: Hepworth Class, Kandinsky Class and Van Gogh Class. The children have made us all proud as they have begun to settle into their new routines. It has been a joy to see them begin to develop new friendships as they play and learn together.

As part of their learning this week the children have been scientists making observations of sunflowers as they change from bud to flower to seed again and have been talking about different emotions as part of their circle time sessions. The children have made a strong start to their phonics learning as they have continued to learn new letter sound correspondences and have enjoyed building and reading new words. 

We have been particularly impressed with our little mathematicians this week as they been busy comparing and sorting matching pairs of socks and objects within the continuous provision areas.
