The past few weeks at nursery have been filled with exploration! Our children have been busy mastering their biking skills and caring for some very special visitors.
Lately, we have been focusing on our biking skills to support the children's physical development. Riding the bikes provides excellent exercise, and it has quickly become a favourite daily activity.

We also used this as a wonderful opportunity to discuss road safety. Using chalk, the children drew zebra crossings, traffic lights, and stop signs on the ground, sharing everything they knew about staying safe on the roads.
Our recent focus on minibeasts took an exciting turn thanks to the recent rainy weather. After spotting several snails outside, the children took the initiative and asked if we could create an indoor habitat for them.
We transformed a fish tank into a snail environment, layering it with soil, foliage, and nutrient-rich leaves, before misting it to keep it damp. We then welcomed our five new friends: Princess, Jessie, Grass, Bubbles, and Robin. The children spent the following days observing their behaviour, learning about their diet, and discovering that snails are actually surprisingly speedy!

After learning how to properly care for them, we gently released the snails back into their natural habitat.
Keep an eye out next term to see which minibeasts we welcome next! We wish all our families a wonderful and restful half-term.
