Stories, Science and Smiles!

World Book Day, Science Week, and More!

What an incredible, action-packed few weeks we’ve had at Nursery! From diving into enchanted stories to becoming mini-scientists, our days have been filled with discovery and delight. Here is a look at what we’ve been up to:

World Book Day

On Thursday, March 5th, we celebrated World Book Day! The nursery was buzzing with excitement as children brought in their favourite stories and creative "story jars" to share.

We were also joined by our wonderful friends from our twinned class, 4 Cromer. It was heartwarming to watch the Year 4 students sit with the nursery children, sharing tales and showing off their own brilliant story jars. Our little ones were absolutely captivated by their older peers—thank you, Year 4, for making the afternoon so special!

Curiosity Unleashed: Science Week

From March 6th to 15th, we put on our lab coats for Science Week. This year’s theme was "Curiosity… What’s your question?" and our children certainly didn’t disappoint! We tackled some of life’s biggest mysteries with questions like: "Why is the sky blue?" and "Where does the sun go when we go to sleep?"

The highlight of the week was our "Magic Milk" experiment. We filled trays with milk and used pipettes to add drops of vibrant food coloring. The real "magic" happened when we introduced washing-up liquid, causing the colours to move and repel, creating a stunning exploding rainbow! Before the big reveal, the children made some bold predictions: "I think the colours are going to disappear!" and "The rainbow is going to explode!"

Mothers Day

To wrap up a busy few weeks, the children worked on their Mother’s Day surprises. This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to sharpen their fine motor skills through sewing and practicing their name-writing. The result? A collection of beautiful, heartfelt cards that we are so proud of.
