It is great to see all of the children settling into the Nursery and creating relationships with their peers and grown-ups. This week, all of the children have participated in a turn taking activity. There has been four activities which included: playing the game ‘Dotty Dinosaurs’, doing a jigsaw in a group, reading ‘Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do you see?’ as well as retelling the story, and lastly, playing I spy. The children have thoroughly enjoyed these group activities and have also been exploring them independently too.
We have been learning about healthy and unhealthy foods in Nursery and looking at why we eat certain foods and why they are good for us. On the other hand, we have been questioning what we think is unhealthy and why as well.
It is also great to see the children becoming more confident performing on the stage. This has been done independently or with peers. Some of the performances included singing, dancing or playing a musical instrument. The audience loved every one of them!
Lastly, we have been focusing on the story ‘Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?’ The children have loved listening to this story and joining in as a group. The author of this book, Eric Carle is our class artist and throughout the year, we will be exploring a lot more of his work.
