What A Busy Week!

blog photo 050724

This week in Nursery we have been focusing on maths, sea creatures and butterflies. We were lucky enough to look after our own butterflies. We have been learning about the lifecycle of the butterfly, and how they grow from a tiny egg, to a caterpillar and then to a beautiful butterfly. The children enjoyed this process and were fascinated by it. Once our butterflies were fully grown we all went out to our garden and set them free, the children were able to see them up close and we were discussing where they would fly to next. In our maths we have been practising our repeating patterns using coloured cotton wheels and string, the children took part in this activity in our outdoor area. We have also had fun looking at sea creatures. The children got creative in their sketch books using oil pastels to draw pictures of the sea creatures and we have read lots of sea themed stories this week. To end our week, some children from Year 5 came to show us their pop up books that they made. Nursery thoroughly enjoyed it and thank you to Year 5 for showing us!
