Head's Blog
Welcome to this celebration of learning blog. I always think of the blogs as providing a window to look into the children’s fascinating world at school. I am in the privileged position to be able to capture events across the school and community as they happen and share them with you. It’s also a bit like a diary in that you can look back and see a colourful reflection of the year.

Here are a few things we've been up to. Can you match the photo?
Lily-Rose signed for our deaf visitors and those with a hearing impairment for the wonderful Y5 play. What did Y2 find in some owl pellets? Y3 played a tremendous brass performance after only 6 weeks of fun lessons with Mr Fountain and Mr Baker. Reception were fascinated with globes and explored the world. Our Young pizza chefs in Y3. Meet Gemma, our newly appointed Chair of Friends with Emma running the Easter Egg Extravaganza. Look at the balance and poise of our Y6 gymnasts who came second in their tournament. Y6 blew me away with their CAD designs for pencil pots and we made wands in a lovely willow weaving workshop. Look at the concentration of our Y1 bookworm at lunchtime on Red Nose Day.
The Y5/6 football team have played tightly as a team and had a lot of success this term coached by Miss Peal and Miss Ottaway. Mrs McNair our new Assistant Head Teacher worked with Miss Valentine and the English team and had us all making 'Stories in a pickle jar' inspired by Martin Stanev's book which she displayed in the school entrance. Our governors, Mrs Kay and Mrs Watson came to see the pickle jars in the exhibition. Y5 had a great time at the Space Centre and we loved learning in the Friends Forest School area. Mrs Hallett organised a fabulous Science Week with one scientist teaching us about hygiene. The police checked that we were parking safely. Y2 have been making moving ferris wheels.
Mrs Hsu worked very hard leading the application for the International School Award - an amazing achievement. Nursery are very keen cooks and gardeners. Y4 had such fun Morris Dancing with their scarves and everyone is reading at Bridgewater. Mr Kennedy's Design and Technology STEM club was a big hit. I love the picture of the reception child discovering the ice after a very chilly night. What a lovely term!
