What a fantastic week Y6 had on their residential to Osmington Bay this year! You can see below how the children threw themselves into everything and tackled new challenges. It was a privilege to observe them grow in confidence not only in the activities but sharing a room for a four day sleepover was a new experience for some and trying the delicious and filling food in the canteen.
The PGL staff looked after us all ensuring everything ran smoothly. We went on a bus to the Olympic Sailing Centre in Dorset to build rafts and float them successfully and play games! Another day we raced dragon boats which tested our coordination and fitness but was so much fun. The PGL instructors and Bridgewater staff were expert in encouraging everyone to participate.
We went to the beach and were surrounded by stunning scenery which the children often commented on.
The activities on site were varied from the very popular giant swing, zip lining, climbing and abseiling to laser target 360, sensory trails and problem solving. Then there were activities every evening from games to the hilarious not so silent disco! The children even had time to visit the shop.
It was a wonderful week and they returned home tired with a bag of soggy clothes but most importantly a new found confidence and fantastic memories to look back on.
Thank you to the amazing and resilient Bridgewater staff team led by Miss Holmes who ensured everyone was getting the most from the experience day and night.
