In Reception the children enjoyed working together to make their very own Christmas biscuits. We talked about the different ingredients that were needed to make the shortbread and learnt how to measure them accurately using the weighing scales. The childrens arm muscles were put to great use as they mixed the ingredients together to make a dough... it took lots of work but with great team work and resilence they suceeded! We discussed how the ingredients had changed as they combined.
The rolling out of the dough was great fun and finally the children were ready to select their cookie cutter and cut out the biscuits for cooking. After a short wait the delicious biscuits were cooked and ready to ice and decorate!
The finished biscuits looked fabulous and were taken home for the children to enjoy! What a wonderful Christmas treat!
