A Visit from the Police Community Support Officers

This week we had a fabulous visit from our local PCSO's. They spoke to us about their varied roles including helping people who are lost and helping to stop the traffic if a car has broken down. The children also learnt about their uniform, how it keeps them safe, helps them to be recognised when out in the community and the special items that they hold such as their walkie talkie and body cameras that help them to collect evidence! The children were lucky enough to handle some pieces of uniform and were surprised at how heavy it was!

The children were fascinated to learn about the different modes of transport that the Police use and were surprised to learn that they can use helicopters, drones and even horses to help them do their job. Finally, everyone was excited to go outside and have a closer look at a Police car and hear the loud sirens! A big thank you to the PSCO's for giving up their time to speak with the children and for all that they do in our community!
