Art Lab- Ceramic Daffodils
In our last Art Lab session of the spring term, the children made ceramic daffodils.
After practising drawing daffodils in the previous session, the children drew on their pevious knowledge of the anatomy of a daffodil to create realistic ceramic sculptures.
They worked hard to create the delicate petals and used tools to create texture and subtle details.
We practised joining techniques by slipping and scoring the different sections together.
Finally we added a fireproof hook on the back so they can be hung on display.
Once they have dried, the daffodils will be fired in our kiln. The children will be glazing their sculptures in the next session.
