Encouraging Girls into Computer Science
Thank you to Mrs Bashiri for inspiring our girls to consider careers in computing. She had a large group of fully engaged Year 6 pupils. There is a big push to encourage girls into computer science, challenging stereotypes and showing them that they belong in STEM subjects. Thanks to Mr Lagdon our Computing Lead and Mr Kennedy all our children access a vibrant computing curriculum.
Congratulations
Congratulations to Farah who was in Year 6 last year who took part in the Junior Bake off and made some wonderful creations. We hope she gets to follow her dream and become a pastry chef one day.
Well done to Isa who kindly donated her beautiful shiny hair to The Little Princess Trust. We like your new haircut. ?
Brew Monday
This year’s Brew Monday is on 20th January, Samaritans is reminding everyone to reach out for a cuppa and a catch-up with the people you care about.
Why 'Brew Monday'?
At Samaritans they say there’s no such thing as ‘Blue Monday’. We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again – feeling low isn’t just something that happens on Mondays or a random day in January.
So, we say out with the blue and in with the brew!
There’s always time for a cuppa and a catch-up. It doesn’t matter if it’s a Monday morning or Saturday night, or if you’re drinking green tea, black coffee or orange juice. If you’re sharing a cuppa and listening, you’re doing it right!
Consequently, we are opening our big hall doors from 8.45am until 9.30am and there will be tea, coffee and biscuits for all on Monday 20th as well as a good catch up!
Fresh Winter Weather
It’s been a lovely bright and chilly start to the term! Can you please check that the children are all wrapped up before they leave for school and label all gloves, hats and scarfs. Thank you.
Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check
Miss Knight and the Year 4 team have organised a quick update for Year 4 parents in the hall after school at 3.30pm next Thursday 16th January.
New Intake Closing Date
Don’t forget next Wednesday 15th January is the closing date for the new intake for September 2025.
