Pre-SATs Homework

The children have worked very hard this year to get to this point, so we would like them to relax and enjoy their final weekend before SATs.  Therefore, we have given them some special homework this week.  Please see this below so you can support them with it.

Pre-SATs Homework

Dear Year 6,

You have all worked so hard this year to get to this point.  You have grown in confidence and developed your skills and understanding brilliantly.  We are all very proud of you and everything you have achieved.  Remember, whatever happens next week, it doesn’t change the amazing people you are.

Of course, you want to do your best in your SATs, and we want that for you too.  You deserve to achieve what you want due to all of the hard work and effort you have put in.  Therefore, the time for revision is over!  You need to take this last weekend before SATs to rest, relax and be refreshed and prepared for the week ahead.

Below are some ideas to help you do this have a go at one, some or none.  Whatever you do though, don’t revise have fun!!!

·      Go on a bike/scooter ride

·      Play a game with your family

·      Read a book/comic/magazine

·      Watch your favourite TV programme

·      Smile and laugh

·      Enjoy the sunshine and the outdoors

·      Eat sweets or ice-cream!

·      Go for a swim/walk

·      See your friends

·      Cook or make something

·      Do something arty

·      Dance

·      Do your favourite hobby

·      Try something you’ve never done before

·      Have a water fight (outside!)

·      Get muddy

·      Climb a tree (carefully no broken arms for SATs!)

·      Learn to juggle

·      Play in the park

·      Take photographs

Remember, you deserve a break and need it.  Get a good night’s sleep each day before your tests and remember to stay calm.  Think about everything we have taught and told you over the past few months.  You will all be brilliant we know you can do this!!  Enjoy your weekend and good luck for next week.

Yours sincerely,

All the Year 6 Team: Mrs Sinclair, Mrs Boyling, Mrs Mawer, Miss Holmes, Miss Scott, Mrs Hillery and Mrs Archer

Helping at Home

In Year 6, the children are set two pieces of home learning each week which should be completed in their homework books.  It will be set on a Thursday and is due in the following Tuesday. In addition to this, please continue to support your child with their reading by regularly reading to them, listening to them read and asking them questions about their reading. Please ensure they log it on Boom reader.

Our Year 6 PE lessons are on a Wednesday and Friday so please ensure your child wears their PE kit in school on this day.
