Languages and International Blog
Welcome to our Languages and International Blog. At Bridgewater, we have chosen Spanish as the language we teach, as it is widely spoken. This is taught to all children in years 3 to 6 by Mrs D'Agostini. We engage the children through playing games, singing songs and stories as well as developing their grasp of grammar and the written language. Please celebrate the children’s learning with us by commenting on the blog posts below. ¡Hasta luego!
We have been accredited with the International School Award (ISA) 2022-2025 in recognition of our international focus. We were praised by the British Council for our commitment to embedding a rich and creative range of international work.
Language Ambassadors
Our brilliant Language Ambassadors from Years 5 and 6 have been visiting different classes around the school this week. Those Language Ambassadors who speak another language greeted the classes and had time to talk to the children in their language. All the Ambassadors then supported the children with Spanish. They demonstrated a range of games on Linguafun which the children can access at home. They were all very enthusiastic and great ambassadors for the languages. Well done everyone!
Christmas!
Like last year, we have looked at how Christmas is celebrated around the World and how Merry Christmas is said in a range of languages.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
