Abington Park Museum
Year 1 enjoyed their trip to Abington Park Museum.
We were lucky with the weather and were able to walk through the park and observe the early signs of Spring.
In school we have been learning about the Victorian era and the museum had lots of wonderful artefacts for the children to explore.
First, the children went on a Victorian treasure hunt around the museum. They followed clues and used a map to find each station, which all had different Victorian toys for them to explore.
Next, the knowledgeable museum staff gave the children an interactive lesson about Victorian and modern toys. The children explored and sorted a variety of toys and were able to ask lots of questions about toys they had never encountered before.
Finally we enjoyed our lunch together in the museum hall. The children were so excited to eat their lunch at the big banquet tables!
Thank you to Northampton Museum staff for an informative and fun day! We have had a lovely time learning with you.
