Dear Parents
Year 6 Aladdin Performance
We were treated to a wonderful performance of Aladdin by our Year 6 children this week. Each and every one of them gave their all and sang, danced, acted, painted back drops, created costumes, managed the computers to their very best ability.
We heard some exceptional individual singing and acting performances as well as the uplifting group ensembles where Mrs Washington and the team had worked hard with the children. The children had fun learning the dances with Miss Morley and worked together brilliantly in the performances coordinating their scarfs to perfection. For the last month the children had been grabbing time with Miss Peal to paint the backdrops which looked very professional.
Mrs Hallett and team’s wealth of experience enable them to coordinate a performance for 90 children where they are all involved in one way or another matching their passions and skill sets. They have had a great year and we are proud that they will be leaving us ready to move to secondary school with a quiet confidence and a positive attitude to their learning. The world is out there, and I’m sure they will continue to work hard towards their ambitions and goals with a sound set of values.
Trips to the Swale
It has been lovely to walk past the swale this week and see children in the shade of the trees relaxing and sketching detailed observations as well as pond dipping and finding our newts and minibeasts and returning them to their habitat safely. They were sat quietly under a tree and told me to look up where a pigeon was sat on its nest the whole time while the children sat silently and sketched.
Northampton Saints
Thank you to Jake for very kindly bringing in the Gallagher Premiership Trophy to show the children this week. We were amazed at how big and heavy the trophy was – as big as some of our children in our Reception classes!
Reports
The teachers have spent this term writing the children’s reports which you will receive this evening giving an overview of your lovely children and where they are in their learning. On Monday evening we will be having a drop in Celebration of Learning from 3.30pm to 5pm, where you can discuss aspects of the reports should you wish and look at books.
Have a lovely weekend
