To build on our learning about the importance of brushing our teeth, last week we started an exciting experiment to investigate how different liquids can cause more damage to teeth if not brushed than others.

For the experiment, we used eggs to represent our teeth. We tested the pH level of vinegar, coca cola, milk and water & found out that vinegar was the strongest liquid. Using these results, we wrote our predictions of what we thought might happen to each egg when left in each of the liquids for a week. We then placed one egg in a plastic cup and covered the egg with each of the liquids.

This week we will be taking the eggs out of the liquids to compare the effect each liquid has had on the eggs. This should show us how different liquids can cause more/less damage to teeth, if teeth are not brushed regularly. We are really looking forward to finding out the results of the experiment.

Now we have an exciting STEM room at Bridgewater, we will be able to teach our Science lessons in there on a regular basis. Last week 2 Magritte & 2 Maurice had their lessons in the STEM room and 2 Kahlo are really looking forward to their Science lesson in there on Friday.
