Take One Picture

Year 6 showed great enthusiasm developing their art skills this half term when exploring the Take One Picture project.  We focused on the people in the picture, looking at their postures and using drama and freeze frames to develop how we thought they might be feeling and why.  We then developed our sketching skills to draw outlines of people; we had to really think about proportion of the body for this.  Finally we made our people out of wire, using different tools to bend and cut the wire, and building up layers to try to replicate the correct proportions from our sketches.

Helping at Home

In Year 6, the children are set two pieces of home learning each week which should be completed in their homework books.  It will be set on a Thursday and is due in the following Tuesday. In addition to this, please continue to support your child with their reading by regularly reading to them, listening to them read and asking them questions about their reading. Please ensure they log it on Boom reader.

Our Year 6 PE lessons are on a Wednesday and Friday so please ensure your child wears their PE kit in school on this day.
