Chinese New Year!

EE1FB1AA 3B47 426E B043 CCAD7E6828D8

The last two weeks we have been looking at Chinese New Year. The children have discovered that red is a lucky colour, it’s the year of the pig, Ni hae means hello in Chinese and egg rolls are delicious! Also we looked at the Chinese Zodiac story and one of the nursery parents came in to read one of their favourite stories in Mandarin. In maths we were able to work together as a team to create lanterns. We looked carefully at the shapes we could see and then we described them. Finally we were introduced to the story ‘The Magic Paintbrush’. In the outdoor area we have been retelling the story with the characters and creating our very own dragons in the construction area.
