Dear Parents

Y3 Sweepers!

It was so lovely to see Y3 enthusiastically helping out Mrs Novakovic-- and Jordan, our caretaker, with sweeping up the hall after lunch today.  They must have such tidy bedrooms!??

Missing Mobile Phones

Following the incident with the phone and bank card going missing on the school grounds.

  1. Please don’t use your mobile phones on site, which includes using ear pods. *
  2. Please keep them safely hidden away.
  3. Please be vigilant and if you see anything report it to the police straight away and let us know.

*Mobile phones should not be used on site for safeguarding reasons.

Bikeability

This week, some Year 5 children took part in a Bikeability course where they were aiming to achieve their level 2. They became more confident cyclists by learning how to overtake stationary vehicles, negotiate quiet junctions and roundabouts and understand road signage and markings. The Bikeability instructors commented on how polite and hardworking the children were.

Reception Reading Information Session

It was lovely to see such a big turnout of parents for our information session.  Mrs Wise and the team talked about reading approaches and ways to support the children and gave parents a booklet of resources.  The teachers are looking forward to seeing you at the physical development and writing workshops before Christmas.  It was helpful to get feedback about Boom Reader which seems to be going well and engaging the children. It was lovely to have Mary Kay present, our Joint Chair of Governors who has reading as her focus area.

Cross Country Event

We took a big team of athletes to Abington Park for the Northampton Town Championships.  They all showed great resilience on a demanding course and Millie in Y6 did particularly well coming second place, Baxter in Y4 came 4th and Millie in Y5 was 11th and someone came 8th!

Christmas Performance Dates

With Christmas fast approaching we have added all the Performance dates to the school website. Further details will be sent out by each year group closer to the time.

Packed Lunches

This is a reminder that children should not have any sweets in school in their lunch boxes.  The children are answering the lunch time supervisors back and saying, ‘My mum says I can have them.’ So, I just wanted to confirm that everyone understands that sweets shouldn’t be in school. Save them for when they can have a special treat – thank you ?

Remembrance

Mrs Troop, ably supported by the school Prime Minister, Thomas in Y6, Tiana and Hannah led a beautiful Remembrance Assembly about Uncle Jack who fought in the war and sadly didn’t return.  All the children were respectful, listened carefully and reflected in silence for one minute.

Have a lovely weekend

Mrs Alison Harvey
