Forest School Learning
The Reception children have enjoyed the opportunity to explore our Forest School area and learn outside this week. We are very grateful to the ‘Friends of Bridgewater’ who raised the funds for the outside learning resources. They have also provided a new plaque referencing our dear Mrs Biddle who developed our school pond and inspired us all to appreciate nature and wildlife.
Dodge Ball
Year 1 & 2 went with Charlie and Mrs Parker to Kings Park this week to a Dodge Ball competition winning a shiny trophy. They were a great group to take out and worked very well as a team to come in second place out of seven schools. Well done!
Hope Centre Donations
Thank you for all your generous Harvest donations which the Hope Centre will very much appreciate. Year 4 have been working hard, preparing their Harvest performance which they will be performing to their parents and families next Thursday at 2pm and Friday at 9.20am.
CrossFit
Some children in Years 1,2,5 & 6 had a session with CrossFit this week and a few children spoke confidently to Radio Northampton. CrossFit is a high intensity fitness enrichment programme which incorporates elements from several sports and types of exercise.
The Saints
A group of children went to see the Saints v Harlequins this week and they won! They had a brilliant time. Thank you to Miss Holmes and Mr Kennedy who accompanied them.
Careful Driving
Please drive with care in the neighbouring area as a car completed a three-point turn, narrowly missing a child this week. Thank you to all who drive slowly with due care and consideration for others.
Litter
It has come to my attention that several parents are dropping litter from the cars onto the side of the road and local volunteers are having to come along and tidy up after them. Please take your rubbish home with you. Thank you
Diwali
Year 3 were working hard with Paul Smith from Festival Road in a workshop creating beautiful illuminated diva lamps out of willow, ready for the Diwali Parade at 6pm this Saturday. Please come along if you’re free. The children will love the procession, the lights and the giant animatrons as they parade from the Guildhall up the High Street and down St Giles Street.
Nursery Harvest
There are some pictures on Twitter this week including a wonderful picture of Nursery with their home-grown pumpkins, beans and carrots. It never fails to make me smile.
Have a great weekend.
