We have had two days of glorious weather for our four Sports and Arts day events.
This year Miss Conroy and Mrs Holding tried a different format and we want to thank you all for your positive support, comments and emails. One parent wrote …
“I thought it was great and more inclusive for the children, allowing them to showcase their different talents. The different activities also allowed the event to be more intimate by having smaller groups then bringing everyone together for the big races...loved it.”
The children have also said that they really enjoyed the format and there was something for everyone. They all threw themselves in and I have uploaded a new blog with some pictures.
Everyone commented on the Young Leaders who had planned and organised the sports at each station and were very supportive and understanding to the younger children.
Thank you to Miss Conroy who coordinated the events, which went like clockwork, and to Mrs Holding for the uplifting singing.
Beauty and the Beast
We have also been treated to the Y6 play which was Beauty and the Beast this year. The children worked really hard and they improved more and more each time. There were some amazing individual singing performances where children held the audience spellbound. The group singing and dancing were fabulous due to Katie Bunting’s direction and all the Y6 team worked tirelessly to ensure the children had a wonderful memorable experience.
A parent shared her concerns this week that many of the children who come in to school on bikes and scooters and are not wearing helmets. It would be much safer if they could all remember to wear them.
This is a polite reminder not to park across the dropped kerb on Milverton Crescent.
Thank you to Jason and the team for cooking a delicious barbecue lunch yesterday. The children sat and ate their hot dogs and burgers relaxing under the trees.
Northampton in Bloom
Mrs Dempsey, Mrs Beirne and the young gardeners were proud to show the Northampton in Bloom judges around the school this week. They were very impressed with all their efforts and enjoyed tasting the home grown raspberries.
