Special Visitor - Learning about Ramadan and Eid

Reception were so grateful to welcome a special visitor into the classroom on Friday morning. Mrs Litt came in to speak to the children about Ramadan and Eid.

The children were so interested to learn about how many families celebrate Eid with a big family feast, special new clothes, going to temple to pray and gift giving. The children learnt that Ramadan is a special month that leads up to Eid, where some people fast and use the time as a reminder to spread kindness and gratitude.

Mrs Litt showed the children some of the special clothes her children had worn for previous Eid celebrations and the Ramadan calendar that the children use to count down the days of Ramadan.

Some of the children shared their experiences of Ramadan and Eid, and others noticed the similarities between Ramadan/Eid and the festivals and special occasions they celebrate with their families.

Mrs Litt, thank you so much from all of the Reception Team for coming and sharing with all of us in Reception.
