The Friends of Bridgewater Primary School

The Friends of Bridgewater Primary School is the name for the parent teacher association at our school.  It was established to provide an opportunity for parents and carers to become more involved with the school and to help raise funds to enhance the education and experience of all children in the school.

What do we do?

Every year the Friends organise fantastic events, including:

  • Halloween and spring discos
  • Film nights
  • Personalised Christmas cards drawn by the children
  • Pre-loved uniform sale
  • Christmas Fair, Easter Egg Bingo and Summer Fair
  • Mothers and Fathers Day stalls (with gifts for the children to buy)

What do we do it for?

In the past the Friends have purchased a new gazebo and outdoor furniture for the Inspire building, new books for the library and each year group, calculators for Year 6 as leaving presents, musical equipment, iPads, climbing frame and soft furnishings for Nurture/Hygge etc.

How can you get involved?

As a parent of a child at Bridgewater Primary School you are automatically a member of the Friends and we would like to encourage any parents to become as involved as you can with our activities and fundraising.  We realise that attending committee meetings isn't possible for everyone; however, if you would be willing to help at events, supply prizes or help behind the scenes then we would love to hear from you.

Committee Members

Bridgewater Friends is a registered charity and as such has an elected committee to organise and administer the charity and the events we run. The current elected committee members are;

  • Chair: Melanie Tarlton
  • Secretary: Esther Fifield and Alison Hemmings-Buckler
  • Treasurer: Neeta Patel
  • Purchasing: Debbie Whitney and Sylvie Denton
  • Publicity: Helen Cleaver and Sylvie Denton
  • School liaison: Andy Cleaver
  • Volunteer Coordinator: Elizabeth Maroodza

Details of the latest events are regularly sent out to parents via ParentMail and are also displayed in the Friends notice board (near the entrance to Early Years).
