Painting dinosaurs!

Last week, year 1 created clay dinosaurs. First, we had to design our dinosaurs based on the interesting dinosaurs we have explored this term. Then, we had to carefully manipulate the clay into our dinosaur design. We had to be very careful when using the clay as if we didn't apply enough slip (clay glue) it would all fall apart! We waited for a week before painting our dinosaurs. After exploring tone and colour mixing, we set to  paint our dinosaurs just like our first design. Some children used primary colours but others created secondary colours, exploring how light and how dark they could make their colours. We created some lovely final dinosaurs!
