Wire Sculptures

Year 6 have enjoyed making their wire sculptures over the past two weeks.  First we thought about the proportions of the body, and used chalk to develop this.  Through watching Austin's Butterfly, we created multiple drafts of our chalk pictures to improve different elements following our partner's feedback each time.

We then turned our chalk pictures into wire sculptures, thinking carefully about the poses we wanted our models to have.

Helping at Home

In Year 6, the children are set weekly spellings on a Monday which are tested on a Friday.  On Thursday we also set two additional pieces of home learning which are due on a Tuesday.

In addition to this, children will be setting up revision folders over the spring half term, so please support them in using these and creating a revision timetable to help them organise their workload in preparation for SATs.  Please also continue to support your child by regularly reading with them, testing them on their times tables, and helping them to learn the Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 spelling words, which they will be expected to evidence in their writing in class.
