Chinese New Year Celebrations

The children had lots of fun celebrating the Chinese New Year. They enjoyed listening to stories about China and looking at information books about the celebrations. It was wonderful to see the children work together to make a large dragon that they used to decorate the classroom. Their playdough dragons were very individual and creative. The children were curious to find out what animal represented the year that they were born in so we looked at the Chinese zodiac to find out.  The highlight of the week was going to watch the Early Years children perform their Chinese New Year Celebratory dance in the Ignite hall. We took the dragon masks that we had created along with us!
