 Dear Parents

This week myself, Mrs Wise, Miss Knight and Miss Conroy had an exciting week in Sweden exploring Outdoor Learning.  We had an inspirational week visiting Swedish Forest Schools.  We have met so many wonderful staff and children who shared their passion for the outdoors and taught us lots of skills that we can apply at Bridgewater.  It was great to have some time to compare two different cultures and think about what will work in our setting.  We want to use our fantastic school and local resources so that the Bridgewater children can have the best possible learning experiences.

TLCs

This week TLC appointments have started and teachers and children have been enjoying sharing their learning.

String Recital

On Tuesday, the children enjoyed a String Recital from NMPAT. The children listened carefully during the recital and were challenged to identify the songs that were played. They particularly liked listening to the Star Wars and Peppa Pig theme tunes! During the recital the musicians discussed their instruments and the children were able to ask questions. They really enjoyed learning that the bow was made from horse hair. This year's musicians were Kate Bickerdike, Corinne Malitskie, Richard Roper and Jon Spinner and we thank them for giving the children this opportunity to hear an exciting live performance.

School Council

This week the School Council were invited by the Bridgewater Residents Association to visit Abington Vale Park, to support with creating a community flower meadow. The Residents Association greeted us warmly and explained why it is so important to encourage biodiversity within our local area. We all had the opportunity to scatter a selection of seeds, which will bloom into a bed of wild flowers in the coming months. Next time you visit the park, be sure to look out for the meadow and the biodiversity it brings!

Goodbyes and Welcomes!

Today we say goodbye to Miss Joanna Poole, who has been a teaching assistant for many year groups across the school and a member of OSC? We will miss her kind and thoughtful contributions to Bridgewater and all the teams she has been a part of. We wish her well in her new career within a solicitors’ firm. We are pleased to welcome to Bridgewater Miss Emma Watson who will be our new member of the school office and Miss Alex Brack, who will be supporting in Early Years as a teaching assistant.

Have a good Bank Holiday weekend, we look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday!

Kind regards

Mrs Alison Harvey & Mrs Frances Troop
