Dear Parents
Welcome back to the Summer Term. The children seem to have all grown noticeably taller!
Thank You For Your Easter Egg Donations
Jeanette Walsh wrote to thank you for all your generous Easter egg donations as in the extract below:
‘THANK YOU on behalf of all of the children and families & young people right across Northamptonshire who will enjoy a little chocolate this Easter thanks to you.’
Art Competition Winner
Well done William in Y4 who entered a ‘Fair Trade’ art competition, “Choose the world you want”. He won out of hundreds of people who entered. You can look out for him on the Co-op website, where he will be appearing soon.
Parking
Can I remind everyone not to park on the kerbs or corners of roads where it is unsafe and to show consideration to the local residents. Please drive slowly in the local area at drop off times as we have had some near misses in the past.
Please remind the children how to cross the road safely and we will also do this in school.
Swimming
It was great to see Year 5 go off to the Northampton School for Boys for swimming lessons this week to use their state-of-the-art facility. It is so important to develop this skill, not only for fitness and fun but it can be life-saving, and the more swimming opportunities both at home and school the better.
Sweets
We have made the decision that birthday sweets are not to be shared in school at the end of the day, as we did throughout lockdown. Increasingly we have children with allergies and for religious reasons who cannot partake of sweets. We celebrate the children’s birthdays in school with a card and a song and make the day special. They can save the sweets for their celebrations at home and at their parties.
Gymnastics
Today Jomi, Avaiah, Isabella, and Zoe from Year 1 & 2 competed in a Pacesetters Gymnastics Competition. The children had been practising over the last few weeks. The children did a fantastic job learning their routines and came second place in the competition! Each child received a certificate and brought back a trophy for our school to display!
Sweden Erasmus Trip
Myself and some staff are going to Sweden next week on an Erasmus trip to look at Forest Schools and outdoor learning. We can’t wait to come back, enrich our practice and use our amazing Pond and Forest School area to its maximum. Mrs Wise will be covered by Ms Gill, Miss Conroy will be covered by Mrs White and Mr Howard, and Miss Knight covered by Mrs Cressey. Mrs Troop will be deputising for me should you need to contact a Senior Leader.
Have a great weekend
Mrs Alison Harvey
