Dear Parents

We have had a lovely week back with a full compliment of refreshed staff.  The children are getting used to the earlier starts again and have settled to their learning with a fantastic attitude.  All the usual exciting learning is taking place around the school and the children are enjoying their learning challenges.

Covid-19 Updates

As you are probably aware, the government have made some changes due to the prevalence of the omicron variant and as a consequence we have tweaked our Covid-19 risk assessment, version 26!  The latest version is on the website and all the recent information is at the top.

We are adhering to the hands, space, face advice and ensuring there is adequate ventilation by using the governments CO2 monitors in each classroom which advise us when to open windows. The rules about testing and isolation are on the website risk assessment with links to the DfE advice.  We are continuing to move anti-clockwise around the building at drop-offs and pick-ups and request that adults who are not exempt wear masks at this time, that you remain in family bubbles and don’t congregate with other adults on site.  Thank you.

Curriculum

Our staff have adapted the curriculum incorporating the governments changes and are leading their subjects strongly, ensuring the children get the very best learning that we can offer.  During Staff Training Day they shared their overviews with each other which are uploaded to the website for you to view.  This is a focus for our school development plan and has developed over time transforming the children’s learning and embedding knowledge and skills for their future.

New Caretaker - Bob Brown

We have a lovely new Caretaker that started this term called Bob Brown who you will meet in and around school, and in particular on the gate in the morning.  Bob has a cochlear implant and as such will not be wearing a mask. In order to understand you he will need you to remove your mask, whilst maintaining your distance, so that he can lipread.  He is very helpful and friendly so please say hello when you see him.

Family Breakfasts

We are pleased to say that we will be starting the family breakfasts again next week on Wednesdays and Fridays.  Please can we ask that you wear masks until you are sat down and sit in family groups to protect yourselves and others and enjoy your breakfasts!

Teaching Assistant and Lunchtime Supervisor Vacancies

We have vacancies for Teaching Assistant and Lunchtime Supervisor roles in school. The advertisements can be found on our website or Teach Northants.  You can contact Hilary in the School Office if you would like to know further details or have some questions about the opportunities.

Wrap up warm and have a lovely weekend

Mrs Alison Harvey
