Dear Parents

We are rapidly coming to the end of another wonderful academic year.  I had a look down our Twitter feed, which is a lovely reminder of all our highlights for the year, and came across some of the following:

o   We started our family breakfasts this year which have been very popular

o   Y6 had a fantastic residential in Osmington Bay and Y4 went on their residential adventure to Staffordshire

o   The chick eggs arrived and hatched live on webcam

o   The Diwali Parade through Northampton was magical and the Carnival was great fun

o   The Remembrance Service gathering with over 1,000 people was poignant and will stay in our memories

o   All our sports teams, musicians and choirs have excelled at events like ‘Young Voices’

o   The children have been on inspiring trips and we have had many interesting visitors come in to school

o   The School Council, all Ambassadors and Young Leaders have been working hard at their roles

o   We went to the Houses of Parliament where Emily picked up her STEM prize for her amazing chicken house design

o   Friends events have been awesome and raised lots of funds and the children have raised lots for charity

o   Everyone reading 6,000,000 words and enjoying reading stories on Pyjamarama Day

o   We had brilliant sunny sports days

o   We built a lot of links with the community this year including all our trips to St Christopher’s Care Home, where the children recently sewed cushions with the residents and Nanny Margaret; they will take them to the home next week

o   We were very grateful to the pupils and staff of Thomas Becket this week who volunteered to come to our school and clear the pond area.  They worked really hard and have done a really good job.  Mrs Biddle was very impressed and hopefully the children will get to have a look around before the end of term.

Y6 were such a great year group at the disco yesterday.  They were full of fun and after a few selfies put their phones away, danced their socks off and sang to the roof tops.  My last image was when they retrieved their phones and held them aloft in the dusk with the lights on swaying, hugging, laughing and there were a few tears.  Such a lovely group of children.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Alison Harvey
