Dear Parents

Termly Learning Conferences

I hope you have enjoyed hearing about your child’s learning at the Zoom Termly Learning Conferences this week.  Visitors recently commented how calm and focused the children are on their learning as they toured the school.  I have also been very impressed listening to the children discussing their learning in classrooms and connecting their knowledge to previous learning and I hope their knowledge, confidence and enthusiasm for learning has shone through at the TLCs. Thank you to Mrs White and the Office Team for working hard to set up all the zooms which seemed to work smoothly.

Boccia Event

We are very proud of our boccia competitors this week who narrowly missed the gold medal by one point, however, we love silver.  Well done team, keep practising your skills and aim high for the future. You will find some lovely pictures on Twitter taken by Miss Poole, who took them to the competition with Mr Howard, their very proud coach.

Children in Need

Thank you, Mrs Douglas for encouraging us all to turn up to school wearing spots to raise money for Children in Need, a very worthy cause.  Thank you for your very generous donations as so far we have raised £360. You can continue to donate on ParentMail until Sunday 21st November.

Police Presence

It has been great to have Steve, our local PCSO in the area this week at pick up times, encouraging us all to park with care and consideration, to keep our children and community safe.

Beau

We are very proud of Beau in Y6 as she held a cake sale with her friend and raised an amazing £125  for the Hope Centre. You can find an article in the Chronicle and Echo about how worried Beau and her friend are about the homeless, especially as it is so cold now.

Anti-Bullying Week

Thank you to Mrs Redden and the team for helping us think and learn about Anti-Bullying this week.  It has been very powerful and the messages will now be threaded through our learning during the coming year.  The children have worked carefully to skilfully sketch their 650 faces to create an impactful display and provide a reminder about how to behave appropriately in school and be kind to each other, now and in the future.

Have a lovely weekend

Alison Harvey
