Dear Parents
Spanish Week
Thank you to Mrs Hsu who hasn’t stopped teaching all the children Spanish this week and putting wonderful displays up around the school. Mrs Hsu and Miss Sheikh are working towards our International Schools Award and organised a treasure hunt, assemblies, Spanish activities and games, we danced the flamenco, sang songs and ate paella for lunch. It has been wonderful to be steeped in the Spanish culture and language. There are pictures on Twitter and the blogs.
OSC Canopy
Maxim systems have completed a great job building our fantastic new canopy outside the OSC. Thank you Mrs Atlas for all your hard work because now the children can enjoy being outside in all weathers.
New Parent Governor Position
There is an exciting opportunity for a parent to join our Governing Board. There is an opportunity to drop in to school to find out a bit more information about the role next Wednesday 6th October at 8.30am or Thursday 7th October after school at 4pm. If you have any questions please contact the school. Please come to the school reception for the drop ins. They will be able to sign you in and we will then meet in the conference room.
Parking
The police have been checking parking in the area after school this week. Please ensure that you park with consideration to our neighbours. Please don’t park across driveways, on kerbs or at junctions making it difficult for cars to pass. Can we also remind you not to keep your engines running emitting fumes in to the local environment, especially in a fuel crisis!
As a healthy school the children on the school council aim to encourage families to walk to school or travel on bikes or scooters. They recommend that people park near Abington Park if they do need to drive and enjoy a walk in to school which not only provides good exercise as well as being good for our wellbeing.
Acceptable Use Agreement
A Parentmail has been sent regarding our Online Acceptable Use Agreement. We have sent information outlining the Pupil Outline Acceptable Use Agreement/ Rules that has been shared and signed by the children. Alongside this we have the Online Acceptable Use Agreement for parents which has been sent as a form separately on Parentmail. Please could you complete this online by Friday 8th October. Thank you.
And Finally….
One highlight of the week has been our Nursery children walking past my office, almost in a straight line enroute to lunch each day beaming and saying ‘hola’.
Have a lovely weekend
Mrs Alison Harvey
