Sports Days

We have been very lucky with the weather this week for both our sports days which have run very smoothly.  Each year group will upload photographs to their blogs sharing the children’s sporting achievements.  It was lovely to see the Young Leaders helping the teams and also children cheering on and encouraging other classes.  Thank you, Miss Holmes and the sports team, for working so hard to create a great event with such a variety of sports.

Salcey Forest

Y1 and Y2 had a great day out on Tuesday to Salcey Forest where they followed the Gruffalo Trail.  I’m not sure if there were any actual sightings but all the children improved their observation skills and enjoyed discovering new things.

Online safety

Simon Aston visited Y4, Y5 and Y6 this week to share key messages.  Since lockdown, where some children had more access to the internet, there have been some concerning situations arising and we continue to reinforce how the children can make good choices to keep themselves safe.  As parents, you are having to be more vigilant than ever, regularly checking parental control locks as well as content on sites and communication both on apps and between friendship groups.  Simon will be running a parent session in the Autumn term and you should continue to read the Online Safety Newsletters that Mrs Redden sends to you to keep up to date with the latest trends and recommendations.

I keep catching Y6 in rehearsals for ‘High School Musical’ and the final video will be a real treat for their families.
