Dear Parents

What an exciting week Year 6 have had at Osmington Bay! We can’t wait to hear all about their adventures, which we have been enjoying snippets of on Twitter.  A big thank you to Mrs Harvey, Miss H Brown, Miss Holmes, Miss Conroy, Miss I Brown, Miss Tsang, Mr Howard and Miss Peal  who have been working hard to make sure the Y6 children have such a memorable and fun time.  The Y6 children who have remained at school have been excellent role models to the younger children, as they have engaged in their various activities throughout the week. Thank you to Mrs Bayes, Mrs Dalby and Miss O’Neill who have given these Y6 children a wonderful jam-packed week of learning new skills whilst having lots of fun.

Please keep an eye on ParentMail for more details on the coaches arrival time back at school.

Science Competition

Thank you to Mrs Hallett who organised the recent Science competition.  There was an amazing response to the 'zoomed in' photo competition with over 130 entries.  She would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part.  We have 4 winners who guessed the most images correctly. Congratulations to Reuben (1 Ringgold), Amelia (1 Ringgold) Florence (2 Maurice) and Alfie (2 Maurice) who have each won themselves a science kit.

The answers can be found on the science page on the blog, how many did you manage to identify?

5 Mazari Class Assembly

Year 5 Mazari explored the work of the artist Muniba Mazari and told us all about how she uses colours and abstract art to show emotion.  5 Mazari then used her techniques to draw their own self-portraits, concentrating on their eyes, noses and lips.  Thank you for sharing your sketches and also for the fascinating facts about Pakistan.

Hide ‘n’ Seek

We have been made aware that some children are playing Hide ‘n’ Seek amongst the cars parked on Milverton Crescent, obviously, this is very dangerous.  Please take a few minutes over half term to remind your child about road safety.

Staggered Starts after Half Term

We are starting to adjust the Risk Assessment in line with the guidance we are receiving and this is on the website for you to read.  There has been a ParentMail regarding the staggered starts, which are as follows:

Early Years and Years 1 to 3 (Ignite building):

Surnames: A – H 8.45 am 3.05 pm

Surnames: I – P 8.50 am 3.10 pm

Surnames: Q- Z 8.55 am 3.15 pm

There will be no further staggered times for Years 4 to 6 and children will be expected to be in school from 8.40 am to 3.15 pm.

School Lunches

Please don’t forget to book your school lunches by Sunday 6 June 2021.

Covid Test Results

We will continue to monitor the office email over half-term for Covid Test results.

Have a relaxing half term with hopefully a little sunshine!

Kind regards

Mrs Frances Troop
