Dear Parents
I hope you and your families are safe and well and enjoyed a different Christmas.
Re-open 5 January
Bridgewater will re-open as planned on Tuesday 5 January and we look forward to welcoming you all back.
Aims during Covid-19
We will be tightening up procedures as we have done throughout the pandemic and will continue to adapt systems to try to reduce infection and the possibility of closure; as well as trying to keep staff and children as safe as possible.
Warning
We cannot afford for anyone in the community to become complacent because the stark warning is that Abington Vale is the area with the fastest growing number of Covid-19 cases in Northamptonshire with the highest rolling rate of 713.4 positive tests. Please see the Chronicle and Echo article below:

Sleepovers
We are aware that some children let slip that they were attending sleepovers and gatherings during last term. Please remember that this is against the rules and puts our children, staff and families at risk.
Please take note
With the current news indicating that we have become a very high-risk area in Abington Vale NO PERSON should break the rules. This is in order to keep our entire Abington Vale community safe. Please think about others in these unprecedented times and thank you to those who do and would never endanger our school, our wider community and the staff at Bridgewater.
You will find the Tier 4 criteria at the following link: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/tier-4-stay-at-home
Remember Tier 4 rules are different from isolation rules.
If you are isolating you should not leave your house.
Thank you for your cooperation. Bridgewater Primary School has battled to remain open and safe for the children and up to Christmas we achieved high attendance and safety. Please help us to maintain these high standards by adhering to the following rules:
· All adults who are not exempt for medical reasons must wear a mask on site. Parents not wearing masks will be reminded of their responsibilities, by staff, to engage in school procedures. We do not want to stop parents coming onto site; however, if the Covid numbers continue to increase in Northamptonshire we will be required to review our procedures
· Please don’t wait at the classroom door to speak to the teacher but make an appointment or email the
· Please maintain 2m distance from staff and other parents at all times
· Please don’t park in the drop off zone unless you have a blue disability badge
· Please adhere to your staggered start times
· Please don’t congregate and chat to other parents at the end of the school day but follow the one-way system to swiftly exit the school site (this includes the drop off area)
· Please do not allow your children to visit other households
· Please alert us if your child shows Covid-19 symptoms and get a test as soon as possible
· Please don’t send your child to school if another family member has symptoms or is isolating
We nearly have a vaccine available, please work with us to keep everyone as safe as possible and hopefully some normality can return again in the coming months. Until then, we must all be patient, keep positive and follow the rules.
Best wishes
Alison Harvey
