Dear Parents

Year 6 Soiree

Year 6 impressed us with their uplifting Christmas singing on Monday after school with our talented musicians performing some catchy Christmas carols. Well done children, it was lovely to see you all giving your all, you showed real maturity and thank you to your amazing staff.

Year 1 Christingle for Grandparents & St Christopher’s Care Home

It was lovely to see grandparents and residents from St Christopher’s Care Home come along to the Year 1 Christingle on Monday.

Celia and Lisa wrote on behalf of the residents that they enjoyed it immensely. They commented that they heard the sharp intake of breath as the candles were lit and the lights were turned out and that awe and wonder is no less special when you are old!

Message from the Eco Council

Livi in Year 6 has forwarded me an important reminder from the Eco council.

‘The Eco Council have been working on small things to make the school a better place and you can do your part as well by recycling your wrapping paper and Christmas cards. Have an Eco Christmas!’

Staff were also thrilled to receive their Eco Council gift which is a very useful notebook with recycled pages.

Online Safety at Christmas

Please take some time to read the Online Safety Newsletter as the Hindenburg research is quite chilling and a reminder to put family locks, parental checks and processes in place to keep the children as safe as possible online.  In the Newsletter there are step by step instructions and links to support you.

Christmas Panto

The ‘Big Bubble Theatre Company’ performed ‘Aladdin’ for Key Stage1/Early Years and Key Stage 2, which was a very good production, keeping the children transfixed. I have to say the children were so well behaved and responded with enthusiasm in all the right places.

Thank You to the Friends of Bridgewater

A big thank you to our volunteer Friends. I hope more people will enjoy being part of the amazing group next term. They are a friendly group who do great things for the children and make a huge difference.

Nursery Singalong

This was an absolute treat! It was so beautiful to hear Nursery’s enthusiastic young voices - the stars shone, the Santa’s got stuck up the chimney, the elves jiggled, and the nativity tableau reminded us of what Christmas is all about.  Well done to the staff who pulled it all together and coordinated all the children.

Christmas Dinner

Heather, the TnS team and Angela and all the Lunch Time Supervisors ensured the children had a delicious Christmas dinner, with the reception classes looking very festive in their Christmas party hats.  Year 6 enjoyed choosing their favourite Christmas songs and singing along.

Christmas Staff Panto

Thank you, Mrs Wise, for writing the very funny, Christmas Panto, ‘The Wizard of Oz and the Emerald City Talent Show!’ The children were excited to spot their staff in various outlandish costumes.  The synchronised swimmers were exceptional and had to be seen to be believed! Thank you to all the staff who threw themselves into it and of course our special visitor who came all the way from the North Pole with his favourite Elf.

Glowing Ofsted Report

Well done to all the staff, governors and children who continue to work hard to provide the best education for the children, which was recognised by Ofsted in our glowing report this term.

Have a wonderful Christmas holiday and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday 6th of January.
