Dear Parents

Parents Evening

We hope you enjoyed the Parents Evenings this week and were pleased with the progress of the children.  The teachers would like to say thank you for all your positive support and comments about the Ofsted report and their work in class.

Travelling Book Fair

Thank you to Mrs Tasher who organised the Travelling Book Fair in the library. This was a huge success with so many of you purchasing lovely new books to share.

Bookmark Competition

Well done to our fantastic Bookmark competition winners, Reya, Gabriella, Eli, Isobel and Lisa who won a £5 book voucher and all their classmates will receive a copy of their book mark. Mrs Tasher wants to thank you all for your amazing entries.

Emily Campbell

The children were very lucky to meet Emily Campbell this Tuesday. She is the Double Olympic, Double World, 4 x European, Commonwealth, 5 x British Champion, British and Commonwealth record holder weightlifting champion! She was an inspiration to us all. She is the most successful weightlifter in modern times and most successful female weightlifter ever. Thank you, Miss Lee, for organising this amazing visit.

A Musical Week

We have had two exceptional NMPAT events this week! On Thursday, Mrs Dicken led a Ukelele Concert for the Year 3 parents. The children had been learning the ukelele for 10 weeks and it culminated in 3 class performances showcasing their ukelele skills. Very well done children.

The second event was this morning when we had an NMPAT woodwind recital. The staff are incredibly talented and engaged the children fully throughout with catchy songs and theme tunes. I’m sure they will have inspired some future woodwind players.

A big thank you to Mrs Dicken, the ukelele teacher and the woodwind recital team from NMPAT.

Trading!

We are seeing an increasing number of children bringing things into school to 'trade'. We have seen football cards, fidgets and key rings. Please can you remind the children that they should not be bringing anything into school and should not be giving things away to people/ trading. Thank you

Royal British Legion

Thank you to everyone who bought poppies from the office this year. We raised £146.25 for the Royal British Legion. Well done.

Christmas Fair - Friday 29th November 2024

Don’t forget to come along to The Friends wonderful Christmas Fair next Friday after school. I’m sure Gemma would welcome any last-minute help to prepare or support on the evening. The preparations are in full swing, and Santa has the date in his diary as does his marvellous elf helper, who is very excited and has a new outfit!

Have a lovely weekend

Alison Harvey
