Dear Parents
Abington Park Cross Country
This week the children went off to Abington Park for the Cross Country Championships. This is always very challenging with hills and muddy conditions, however the children took the challenge, and they did incredibly well. Connie in Year 4 achieved 3rd place and Everly in Year 5 came 4th; we await the final results and are proud of the children’s efforts and resilience. Well done, team.
School Photos
The children have all been smiling and looking very smart for the Tempest school photos today. The team worked quickly and efficiently, and we should have some lovely results to share with you soon.
Remembrance Assembly
Mr Wilson led our Remembrance Assembly this week with Eunice, Niall and Cleo reading ‘In Flanders Fields’ beautifully and Mr Lagdon played ‘The Last Post’. It was very moving, and the children were all respectful, from Nursery to Year 6.
Anti-bullying Week
Mr Wilson also talked about ‘Service’ of the soldiers to their country and related it to how we can help each other around the school community. This continued into Anti-bullying Week where we also looked at empathy towards others. I hope the children are helpful around the home this weekend.
Please can I remind a small minority of parents that school staff work very hard in the best interests of your children, and we would like to remind you to always approach the school staff with respect and politeness.
Thank you to all our supportive families who have congratulated staff with their positive feedback about the Ofsted report; your ongoing comments are much appreciated.
Kind regards
Alison Harvey
