Dear Parents
Y6 SATs evening and Y1 Phonics evening
Thank you to those who came to the Y6 SATs information this Tuesday and the Y1 Phonics evening on Thursday. Both events were very well attended, and I hope you found them useful.
Thank you to the staff who attended and those who supported the creche for siblings on Thursday. Miss Holmes is uploading information on the website in the blog section that will be useful if you were unable to attend. If you were unable to attend the phonics evening Mrs Copeman has shared that you can collect your pack of information from the class teacher.
Y4 Dance Workshop
Thank you, to Anna, the dance teacher for teaching Mr Green and his class the Fox Trot this morning. Each class in Y4 have learnt a different dance including the Samba and Charleston and are getting ready for a big performance this afternoon. What a great opportunity.
Magnificent Minds
This afternoon Rob, from Pacesetters has been working with a group of Y5 pupils training them to support other children with their mental health, worries and wellbeing around the school with the guidance of Mrs Washington. This will be of great value for the children and the school.
Early Years Outdoor Learning
Mrs Wise tells me it has been a phenomenal week for all the children and staff. The staff have been overwhelmed with the positive feedback from parents. One parent wrote, “What a fantastic day, my child absolutely loved it and told us all about it when he got home. Thank you so much for doing this with them, they all look so happy.”
They went to the Forest School area and took part in lots of games and activities; they sat around the fire pit, toasted marshmallows and they drank hot chocolate outside! They explored Jackson Pollock in relation to fireworks night … lots of colourful splattering. They drew mehndi patterns for Diwali and made clay diva pots etc. A wonderful week, however, the children are now very weary.
Have a lovely weekend
Mrs Alison Harvey
