Dear Parents,
Parking Courtesy
Please allow plenty of time so that you can park with consideration and courtesy in our local neighbourhood. It is preferable to park alongside Abington Park and to walk into school keeping our young families fit as well as making the local area safer.
To those of you who are new to Bridgewater please don’t park on grass areas, across driveways or on kerbs and we thank you for only parking on the school side of Milverton Cresent allowing emergency vehicles and traffic to pass through.
Maths Learning Walk
It was lovely to have visitors and governors assist our Maths Leaders on a learning walk this week. They were very impressed with the children’s learning behaviours as the children were focused, listening carefully and inquisitive.
Dance Workshops and Archery Tasters
Today Year 1 were having lots of fun having an Indian Dance Workshop. Meanwhile, out on the field the school have had archery taster sessions which looked very well organised.
Friends Coffee Morning
Thank you to Gemma (Chair of the Friends) and the team, who organised a Coffee Morning on Monday for parents who are new to Bridgewater this year. They were delighted that several parents registered interest in joining them to support future projects and fun activities for all the family. All are welcome and The Friends regularly send out information regarding future events.
MacMillan Coffee Morning
Every year Mrs Burrows organises a Macmillan Coffee Morning for staff in memory of Mrs Biddle who was a much-loved teaching assistant at Bridgewater. Mrs Biddle was all things outdoors and was fundamental in developing the pond area known as the swale and Forest Schools. Thank you to Mrs Copeman who baked a fantastic triple layered cake for the raffle prize won by a delighted Mrs Atlas who shared it with the staff. So far, we have raised £353!! Thank you, Mrs Burrows.
Inclusion Coffee Morning … (lots of coffee mornings!)
The Inclusion Coffee Morning will be in the STEM room this coming Monday 7th October. Miss Knight, our Maths Leader will be there to talk about what maths looks like at Bridgewater for children with SEND and she will be available to answer any questions.
Bikeability
Well done to Year 5 who have been improving their Bikeability skills in all weathers this week. They have been trained by the very experienced Tony and Anthony on the local roads. You may have seen them steady and confident in their Hi-vis jackets!
