Dear Parents
Can you spare some time to help The Friends please?
The Friends of Bridgewater Summer Fair is fast approaching. It will take place at school on Saturday 6th July from 2pm to 5pm and promises to be a fun event for the whole school community. The Friends really need some more people to help out on the day. If you can spare an hour during the fair to help on a stall, or if you can help with the set up or tidying away, please sign up using the form here.
Sports Days
Thank you, Miss Holmes, Miss Lee, Charlie, Miss Peal and all the team for a very successful two days of sports for all the school. It was lovely to see the field full of families following the children around the activities and cheering them on. There was a good balance of traditional races alongside obstacle races, traditional egg and spoon albeit with fluorescent eggs, jumping, bouncing and throwing. Great to see the space hoppers – very tricky to manoeuvre but the children kept them on track.
I’m sure we all agree the Young Leaders were superb, confidently teaching the children by explaining events and rules clearly, recording scores, shooting water pistols with enthusiasm and saving goals. They rose to the challenge, and everything ran smoothly. Two great sunny sports days with fabulous spectators.
Irchester Country Park
Miss Knight reports that the children and adults have had a lovely day. They have been orienteering around Irchester Country Park using maps to find Red Mountain and the old train tracks. They have also been on a scavenger hunt to find natural resources in the park. They have just arrived back after a full day and have had a great time – early to bed everyone.
Nursery and Out of School Club
I am pleased to advise that following several parental requests, from next term we will be introducing a direct debit payment scheme for fees for our Nursery and Out of School Club. If you use either of these two services, please look out for the sign-up email.
Garage Sale
The Bridgewater Local Residents are holding a Garage Sale this weekend where you might pick up some handy things.
Have a lovely weekend
