Dear Parents
Halloween Disco
Ghosts, spiders and bats mysteriously appeared in the hall just in time for the Friends wonderful Halloween Disco for the children. The DJ was excellent and the children looked incredible in their spooky outfits. They had a brilliant time and we really appreciate the time that the Friends, parent volunteers and staff give to run these successful, fun events.
Raffle Tickets
Don’t forget to purchase your Christmas raffle tickets from the Friends as I’m sure there will be lots of amazing prizes.
Volunteers for the Fair Please
If anyone can volunteer any amount of time to help the Friends at the Christmas Fair it would be greatly appreciated.
A Harvest Thank You
Jo Silvester at 3 Pillars Feeding the Homeless from St James Church wrote a letter of thanks for the harvest donations. Jo was very impressed with the amount that you donated and this will help people who are in need in the local community.
Alex Copeland CEO at the Hope Centre thanks you all for your incredible generosity during harvest 2023.
Child Friendly Anti-Bullying Policy
Mrs Redden and a group of children who represent all the age groups across the school have been meeting up and getting their ideas together. They are updating the Child Friendly Anti-Bullying policy which we will share with you soon on the website. The children reflected and added many insightful thoughts.
Phonics
Thank you to Mrs McNair, English Leader, Mrs Copeman, Y1 Leader and the Y1 team for running a phonics workshop for Year 1 parents. Thanks also go to Miss Knight, Mrs Troop and Mrs Burrows for running a large creche. Needless to say the children were very well behaved and engrossed in their activities. There was an excellent turnout on a very wet and windy evening which shows the power of parent partnerships and us all working together to support the children with their ‘Sounds Write’ phonics.
Amazing Football News
A huge well done to the Year 5 & 6 football team, Miss Peal and Miss Ottaway who coach the team. They beat 15 schools in a tournament on Wednesday and are through to the county championship finals in January! Keep practising everyone and strengthening your team work even more.
Have a lovely weekend
Mrs Alison Harvey
