Dear Parents

Goodbye and Best Wishes to Year 6

Today we say goodbye to our Y6 children.  We are very proud of them and their achievements. We all have fond memories of them as they travelled through the school.  I was so impressed with the way they pulled all their skills together as a team, along with a whole lot of confidence and performed Shrek brilliantly.  They threw themselves into the disco with their friends and have been very polite and well-mannered children.  We know that they have a great attitude to learning and have solid foundations from primary school to build upon for the future.  We hope you all continue to follow your passions, interests, hobbies and dreams and work hard. We hope to see you in the future and catch up with you to find out what you’re getting up to.

Well Done to our Dancers

Last weekend Niamh from Year 5, Harlow from Year 2 and Betsy from Year 4 performed Street Dance in Blackpool and became the British SDI U10 Champions.  Next the World Championships in August!  Wow – well done to our dancers.

Thank You to our Governors

We would like to say thank you to Joanna Dunkley who has been our Chair of Governors over the last few years and has seen us through lockdown with all its challenges.  Joanna has developed rigorous systems and set up the governing board ready for the next Chair.

Congratulations to Simon Mitchell who has stepped into the role of Chair seamlessly as we look forward to another year at Bridgewater.

Important News about School Lunches

From September, lunches will go up to £2.50.  We have resisted putting the prices up for as long as we could but with inflation we are no longer able to keep costs the same.  If anyone feels they need support, please speak to the school office who can advise you as you may be eligible for additional support.

Thank you for your kind words and gifts at the end of the year and the overwhelmingly positive responses on the report slips.  We are very appreciative of our supportive families and community.

Have a wonderful summer.

Mrs Alison Harvey
